The month of May will be heating up as the Wildfires, San Diego Derby Dolls’ all-star team, takes on the L.A. Ri-Ettes on Saturday May 12th at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. This inter-league showdown marks a rematch between these two high rollers from L.A.’s January season opener in which the Ri-Ettes extinguished Wildfire 140-115 on the road. Now the Wildfires are looking for revenge on their home track and for a chance to share the pain of January’s loss.

What happens when you pit ten roller derby teams from the West Coast against each other at the Ventura County Fairgrounds for two days of pure athletic wonder? You get Battle for the Coast (BFTC) 2012. This flat track roller derby tournament is celebrating six years of going strong, featuring teams from Seattle, Monterey Bay, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Sacramento to name a few.

On Saturday, March 3, 2012 the San Diego Wildfires traveled to Orange County for a flat track bout against Blockwork Orange. This was a perfect showcase of what can happen when two very talented A-list teams go head to head. It was a high intensity, edge of your seat bout with the score wiggling around like a squirrely jammer.

Watching roller derby is always action-packed but when a two former national championship teams are put together on the track, a spectator is in for a treat of strategic fearlessness.

On February 18, the San Diego Derby Doll Wildfires will welcome the Oly Rollers to the Del Mar Fairgrounds for the Wildfires' first home bout of the 2012 season.

The San Diego Derby Dolls’ Wildfires had a disappointing 65-53 loss to the LA Derby Dolls Ri-ettes Saturday during one of the most anticipated games of the weekend – the fight between two rival sister leagues to make it to the Championship game Sunday.

PHOENIX, AZ–The San Diego Derby Dolls’ Wildfires are in Phoenix, AZ this weekend at Battle on the Bank IV defending their two year reigning title as 2009 and 2010 banked track national champions.

Friday was an easy day for the all-star team playing only one game against a lower seeded team, Tucson Roller Derby’s Arizona Banked Track Robbers, blowing them out 165-10.

It's that time of year again when the banked track roller derby teams from across the country come together to battle it out for the coveted "national champions" title. The San Diego Derby Dolls are hungry to hang on to their back-to-back championship trophy and are gearing up to head out to Phoenix, AZ for the Battle on the Bank IV on June 10-12th.

After a nice long weekend of skating, the Wildfires were pleased to hang on to a second place finish at the 2011 Battle for the Coast. Hosted by the Ventura County Derby Darlins, the Battle for the Coast flat track roller derby tournament has attracted teams from up and down the west coast fighting it out for title spot. Falling only to the Bay Area Derby Girls in the championship bout, the Wildfires were able to fend off their other competition.

The San Diego Derby Dolls Wildfires experienced quite the adventure while back in North Carolina for their bout against the Carolina Rollergirls in Raleigh, NC last Saturday. The San Diego roller derby team experienced tornado warnings and evacuations mid-bout and had to huddle in the basement of the historic Dorton Arena on the Fairgrounds with their helmets on.
