Coming off of last month’s home victory against the Salt City Shakers, the San Diego Hard Corps is looking to take their show on the road. This month, the Hard Corps team will be traveling to Huntington Beach to meet Orange County’s newest travel team, Pulp Friction. Made up of mainly veteran skaters, the O.C. team is also riding momentum after a strong win against the West Coast Derby Knockouts.

Utah is home to Dinosaur Park, Salt Flats and the Salt City Shakers, who came down to San Diego to test their skills on the banked track on April 7th. Waiting for this all-star flat track team was the San Diego Derby Dolls’ Hard Corps, who were happy to give the Shakers a formal welcome to the world of banked track roller derby. Since Utah had little banked track playing-time, this made for an interesting matchup even to the derby novice.

On Saturday, April 7th, 2012 Del Mar Fairgrounds will be camouflaged in military garb to welcome the San Diego Derby Dolls “Hard Corps” roller derby team playing Salt Lake City at on the banked track in Wyland Hall.

After scrambling to pull together a 10-player roster, spending 9 hours on the road, and skating into an auditorium filled with booing Santa Cruz fans, Hard Corps beat the Harbor Hellcats with a score of 118 to 57.

Alaska’s Rage City Rollergirls are in Southern California this week for a trio of bouts against the San Diego Derby Dolls, the Orange County Rollergirls and San Diego Roller Derby.

Rage City’s first stop on this unofficial So-Cal tour was the San Diego Derby Dolls’ Dollhouse Wednesday night. Rage City defended their 5 point win against Hard Corps in last year’s Battle for the Coast Semi-Finals, this time taking Hard Corps 129-88 in an unofficial scrimmage on Hard Corps home track.

The stands were packed for the 2011 San Diego Derby Dolls season opener at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Saturday night, as San Diego’s Hard Corps went to war with the LA Sirens on the banked track. Hard Corps lost this battle to the blinding Sirens 170-82.

DEL MAR - Saturday January 15th, the San Diego Derby Dolls kick off their 2011 season on the banked track as team “Hard Corps” take on the Los Angeles Derby Dolls “Sirens” at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Wyland Hall. This will be the first time these teams have faced each other.
Hard Corps’ 2010 inter-league season was comprised of flat track away games. The skaters honed their skills playing against many challenging teams and have come to be known as a team to be reckoned with.

The San Diego Derby Dolls will say goodbye to the 2009 season and hello to the holidays by hosting the Silicon Valley Roller Girls on Saturday Dec. 12 for a seasonal smashing of holiday roller derby action at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut film “Whip It,” released to theaters in early October of this year, brought roller derby mania back to the mainstream. Taking it from the big screen to real life, the San Diego Derby Dolls (SDDD) are hosting Humboldt Roller Derby (HRD) Saturday Nov. 21 for some hard hitting roller derby action at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. SDDD’s Hard Corps will face HRD’s Redwood Rollers.
