The San Diego Derby Dolls participated in the 14th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk with more than 25,000 others on Oct. 16. The 4-mile walk took people through Balboa Park and onto Hwy 163 where traffic was stopped.

"I'm still pumped up about the walk," said Debbi Pacecca, of the Breast Intentions team. "I'm hearing reports that we recorded the highest attendance ever and early numbers indicate we raised about $800,000 in the fight against breast cancer."

How can we say no to our future Derby Dolls when asked to lead the first mile in their New Day 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk event at Mission Bay Park.

San Diego showed support for the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) community on July 16 as over 100,000 people showed up for the 2011 San Diego Pride Parade and Festival, including over 30 San Diego Derby Dolls, Bootcampers and SD Juvenile Dollinquents. This was the fourth year SDDD has been honored to participate in the largest gay pride celebration on the West Coast.

One of the biggest events in San Diego's year is the annual Rock n' Roll Marathon, and this year the Derby Dolls were there to help support the runners! For those who managed the 26.2 mile trek, they were met by our very own skaters passing out water and encouragement at the 24.4 mile marker on Fiesta Island.

Members of the San Diego Derby Dolls were excited to head over to the 7th annual San Diego IndieFest on Saturday, March 12th to mix and mingle with attendees. There were so many curious people who had never heard of us and there were a ton who did know us and were so excited to see us! Cameras were flashing for group pictures with the dolls, people were enjoying local art, cuisine, and the finest local indie music San Diego has to offer.

Saturday, November 6th the San Diego Derby Dolls will be wrapping up the 2010 season on the banked track in an intra-league bout, while wrapping up some gifts for children at Radys Children’s Hospital.
