The Swarm will play for the Derby Doll championship trophy on Saturday, December 3rd in Los Angeles. In early November, the Swarm secured their place in the championship bout by defeating the L.A. Derby Dolls’ Fight Crew. The Swarm has been to championships twice before, advancing to the finals each year since the team entered into the regular banked track Derby Doll season in 2009. But the Swarm has never taken home the championship trophy.

"Having been to Champs twice before, I have to believe that the third time's a charm!" said Isabelle Ringer, who has been a member of the Swarm since their initial season.

This year at championships, the Swarm will be facing the Sirens. The Sirens are the only team that beat the Swarm in the regular season, but only by one point, and the Swarm is excited to meet the Sirens again.

"The Swarm is just going to do what they do. Play good, clean hard roller derby. We are ready for the Sirens,” said Swarm captain OB Noxious.

The Swarm continues to practice hard headed into this game, using the momentum from their successful season and their recent win to power through this last month of training.

Isabelle Ringer said, "Both teams will be working very hard to prepare for this game. At the end of the day, it does not matter how many games we've won this season, what the points spread were, what players we gained or lost. All that matters is on this one day, in these 60 minutes of play, we win! That's how we become the Champions."

Due to the intraleague restructuring next season, this is the last time a San Diego home team will play in the Derby Doll championships. This makes the Swarm even more determined.

“This is our last opportunity to win L.A.’s trophy since we will no longer be playing as part of their home season. We want that trophy and can’t wait to take it home,” said Slamurai.

The Swarm appreciates the support of their San Diego fans and wants them to share in the significance of this bout at L.A.’s Doll Factory.

OB Noxious said, “Our fans that make the trek to L.A. will be a part of history. Not only does the Swarm get amped up from seeing yellow in the crowd and hearing their cheers, but this is their last time to see the Swarm fighting for the championship trophy."
