San Diego Derby Dolls Rock Rollercon

The San Diego Derby Dolls spent a week of their summer hiatus learning and teaching roller derby at Rollercon in Las Vegas. The 6th annual roller derby conference draws thousands of skaters from around the globe.

“As a first-timer at Rollercon, I wasn't exactly certain what to expect, but it was a blast,” said Razberry Jam. “It was a great opportunity to meet skaters from all over the world, to see and be trained by the people who I've been in awe of on DNN for the last year, and to watch some wicked, awesome roller derby.”

Aside from the Black N Blue Ball, pool parties, and co-ed challenge bouts, skaters came from across the universe for the opportunity to get trained by the best coaches in the world, such as Isabelle Ringer and Punk N. Da’Trunk. The two San Diego Derby Dolls taught classes on everything from offensive synergy, defense blocking, and bench coaching to agility, stability, and communication.

"The convention has come a long way since the first years of outdoor parking lot venues for training and Freemont Street scrimmages” said Isabelle Ringer. “This year's RollerCon showed huge growth from previous years both with the new hosting venue as well as the added tracks, classes and participants from across the globe."
