Ri-ettes Battle the Wildfires
LOS ANGELES, CA -- Through the first half of Saturday night's banked-track game between the hometown LA Ri-Ettes and San Diego Wildfires, LA's jammers seemed magnetically drawn to the penalty box, and it ended up showing on the scoreboard. San Diego repeatedly played an effective slow-trap on powerjams, and used the margin gained on those to hold a 17 point lead at halftime.
Season Opener
DEL MAR, CA --- The San Diego Derby Dolls’ team, “The Swarm,” will face off with the Los Angeles Derby Dolls’ “Varsity Brawlers,” on the banked track on Saturday January 28 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
The Swarm’s 2012 roster is comprised of seasoned skaters and San Diego's up-and-coming athletes. This dynamic combo of experience and enthusiasm will surely show the stinging power of this newly restructured team.
Third Time’s a Charm
The Swarm will play for the Derby Doll championship trophy on Saturday, December 3rd in Los Angeles. In early November, the Swarm secured their place in the championship bout by defeating the L.A. Derby Dolls’ Fight Crew. The Swarm has been to championships twice before, advancing to the finals each year since the team entered into the regular banked track Derby Doll season in 2009. But the Swarm has never taken home the championship trophy.

How can we say no to our future Derby Dolls when asked to lead the first mile in their New Day 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk event at Mission Bay Park.
Swarm stings the Cookies
The San Diego Swarm entered the Del Mar Fairgrounds poised and ready for battle. They were up against their biggest rival, The LA Derby Dolls' Tough Cookies. These two teams have gone head to head five times, with each bout ending with a close score and tense emotions. While the Swarm has proven victorious against the Tough Cookies during regular season in 2009 and 2010, it was the Tough Cookies who went home with the championship trophy both years.
