This past Saturday was the fall opener for roller derby at Del Mar. It proved to be an exciting start to the season as the Diego Rollers beat Santa Cruz 130 to 103. The roster included three first-time skaters and the San Diego crowd made them feel very welcome.

Kung Pow Tina had some amazing power-play jams pushing San Diego to a heavy lead in the first half. In the second half the Santa Cruz Boardwalk Bombshells had some great jams pushing it to an almost tie game with minutes left. But in the last two jams the Diego Rollers pulled together closing out the bout with a win.

Thanks to all the fans that showed up for the start of the season, we hope to see you back in Del Mar on October 17th when the Wildfires take on the Cincinnati Rollergirls.
