F.A.Q
Where can I watch a Derby Doll bout?
The Derby Dolls currently bout in Wyland Hall at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. It’s a cozy atmosphere, with capacity for 1300 of our closest fans!
Where can I get tickets?
Tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com/profile/2825. Physical, Print at Home, and Mobile tickets are all available online.
Are tickets available at the bout?
If the event doesn’t sell out online, there will be tickets available onsite. Please do not count on tickets being available, though. Our events have become very popular and we’ve sold out many of our bouts! If you plan to buy tickets onsite, please bring cash.
What’s the advantage of Bleacher Seats vs. General Admission?
Bleacher seats give fans the ability to have more of a bird’s eye view of the bout. General admission is standing-room only. With the banked track, it can sometimes be difficult to see all the action while standing.
Are the bouts handicap accessible?
Absolutely! The Del Mar Fairgrounds have handicap parking & we are more than happy to reserve floor-level seats, seats next to the railings, or wheelchair parking. Just fill out the type of help you require during the ticket ordering process & we’ll contact you prior to the bout.
Can I get a refund if I purchased a ticket and can’t attend the bout?
No. We do not offer refunds for unused tickets.
Is roller derby for real? Isn’t it fixed?
Roller derby is for real & it is absolutely NOT fixed! When you attend one of our bouts, you’ll quickly learn that roller derby is a real sport with real rules and real athletes. Our players train seriously for this sport and we uphold and admire the true athleticism of modern roller derby.
Will I be able to follow the along if I don’t know how roller derby is played?
We hope so! An overview of how the game is played is included in our programs. The announcers also help keep everyone up to speed on what is happening during each jam. And there are always a handful of league members walking around with “Ask Me” tags that are there specifically to talk “derby” with you. For a crash course, you can also review our Rules page here: http://sd.derbydolls.com/rules.
Is there food at the bouts?
Yes. Del Mar has food vendors available that typically sell nachos, hot dogs, pretzels and popcorn.
